The Handheld Learning Conference is the international signature event for learning using mobile or ubiquitous technologies. SANAKO attended the largest Conference of its kind; bringing together over 1,000 of the world’s leading opinion formers, thought leaders, practitioners, education leaders, developers, policy and decision makers to demonstrate, debate and explore how these technologies can be employed to enable transformational improvements in learning.
The event staged an excellent mix of inspirational presentations from leading thinkers and practitioners, lively interactive debates, learners and practitioner’s showcases, special interest breakouts, networking and social sessions, plus an exhibition featuring the principle industry leaders.
During the exhibition, SANAKO demonstrated the SANAKO Study Mobile solution and were selected to address the Conference; a video of the announcement can be viewed here
SANAKO Breakfast Meeting
To coincide with Handheld Learning 2008, SANAKO hosted a well attended breakfast meeting that featured topical presentations on the future of mobile learning by Dave Whiley, an award winning and influential speaker from Wolverhampton Local Authority. In addition Alissa Ozouf a Teaching and Learning Consultant spoke of her plans and aspirations for Luton Local Authority and their forthcoming project with SANAKO.
The meeting ended with SANAKO showcasing the Thomlinson Junior School video, an inspirational case study that follows pupils from Year 4 on a field trip to York Castle Museum, pupils use the NOKIA N810 as a digital worksheet to record their visit using pictures, text and voice creating a rich multimedia learning experience.
